Felt Halloween Ornaments Tutorial and Free Pattern (Set 2)

Felt Halloween Ornaments Tutorial and Free Pattern (Set 2)

I had so much fun making the first set of felt Halloween ornaments for the Crafty Tutorial Link-Up that I sewed up a few more.

I also got a really awesome spooky looking tree from Target to hang them! Monkey and I got out some of the Halloween decorations and started setting up (a little late this year.) The tree is a perfect addition. Now we just need some spooky spiderwebs.

[If you missed it, I posted the free pattern for the ghost and skeleton, seen above, a few days ago!]

I planned to make my own spooky tree but decided to take the easy way out when Monkey changed her costume idea on me. I have it all planned and bought the supplies. Hopefully I will have the time to finish it this weekend. I cannot wait to share the completed costume!! (You can follow on Instagram for sneak peek updates!)

Back to the ornaments…I added a black cat, a witch hat, a spider in his web, Frankenstein, and a (funny looking) piece of candy. I like all of them except the piece of candy which turned out looking like a pumpkin-spider-bat-thing. Can’t win ’em all, I guess. I would love to hear from you, if you think you have a suggestion for fixing that guy.

To create your own felt Halloween ornaments you will need:

  • The Pattern
  • Felt (colors stated below, with each ornament)
  • Mini-brads (for Frank, the cat, and the candy – optional)
  • Thread to match felt
  • Needle
  • Scissors

For more photos and details of the individual steps, check out the first set of felt Halloween ornaments. I didn’t take as many pictures this time around because I went into a lot of detail in that tutorial and the majority of the steps are the same.

I have a few more fun, felt projects on my list but I am also busily sewing up Monkey’s Halloween costume. This is the first year I will be making her entire costume myself as I haven’t had time in previous years. You can head over to my posts on her first Halloween and her second Halloween for photos in the meantime!

What are you working on? Are you making costumes this year or buying them?

Only 15 days left until Halloween!!
