Links With Love: 8 Free Easter Finger Puppet Patterns

I have been working to switch gears from all the birthday festivities to preparing for Easter. Hubby and I try to steer away from loading up on candy during Easter. Our neighborhood does an easter egg hunt and the kids almost always get candy from family and friends. We still enjoy a small, family easter egg hunt so we spend a little extra time thinking up alternatives to stuffing the eggs with candy (more on this later!) This year, I thought it would be fun to make some of Monkey’s toys to fill the eggs. She loves finger puppets and they are small enough to fit in plastic eggs. Perfect solution!

The following is a list of Easter/Spring finger puppet patterns I came across in my search, all available for free download! For more (non-Eastery) options, check out our previous post with many more free patterns for finger puppets. Hubby is also working on drafting up a set of finger puppets based on the characters from Frozen. (So excited to make these!!)  I’m not sure yet if they will be ready in time for Easter but check back for those!

{Click on each of the images below to be taken to the site offering the free patterns.}

  • The Purl Bee – I shared these finger puppets before but they are definitely my favorite. I am going to make some of these this year! They also have a free pattern for bunny hand puppets that are pretty adorable too!

  • Wild Olive – Cute little egg-shaped finger puppets. There are pieces to make a chick, bunny, and egg decorated with embroidery. The possibilities are endless!

  • Dream a Little Bigger – These cute little guys look fun too. She includes a couple bows to customize the chick, bunny, and lamb.

  • Good Critters – These cute little guys remind me of chocolate bunnies but I suppose you could make them in any color. They also just released an adorable “hidden chick” finger puppet (second picture below.) I just found this site and it looks like they offer a free finger puppet pattern every month or so. I will definitely be checking back to see what else they come up with!

  • The Alison Show – These “Tiny Bunny” finger puppets resemble peeps in silhouette. I love the way she has sewn the ears on different for each of them. Some are off to the side, some straight up, some different distances. I also really love the colors she chose, different from the typical Easter pastels.

  •  Craft Jr. – Lastly, here is a no-sew option for those of you looking for something not involving a needle. These pipe cleaner and pom pom finger puppets. These are excellent for getting the kids involved. There are examples for a chick, bunny, and kitten but the options here are only limited by your imagination.
